About Us

The Connecticut Rental Properties Directory is a listing of rental real estate in Connecticut. Specifically the RPD is a listing of apartments, houses and condos available to rent or share in major towns in Connecticut.  Our original focus was to provide listings around the Universities and Colleges in Connecticut, but our scope has expanded. In addition to rental real estate, the RPD contains listings of boarding rooms in private homes and roommate listings.

• This publication is used by faculty, staff and students of Connecticut colleges as well as professionals within the state to find short term and long term living arrangements.
• You do not have to be a student nor do you have to be affiliated with any college or university to use this directory.  The RPD is simply a listing of available housing. 
• You the reader do not have to pay to use the listing. And, the RPD does not interfere by acting as a rental agent or middleman. 
• You are free to call any and all listings posted in the RPD.  The RPD is updated on a daily basis.

Our history

The RPD originated as an off-campus housing listing at the University of Connecticut.   To ease the demand for student housing the University of Connecticut Department of Residential Life developed the original off campus housing list.  This list was an up to date tabulation of available housing around the university.  After several years of serving the UConn community the University of Connecticut Department of Residential Life. 

In 1994 the off-campus housing listing was adopted by Crystal Spring Services and renamed the Rental Properties Directory.  Since its privation the RPD has continued to provided a reliable service to the University of Connecticut community and has expanded that service to the Eastern Connecticut State University community.  The RPD was originally available only as a printed document on campus, but in 1996 it became a Internet based publication which greatly expanded the community that we were able to serve.  As a result of our success in helping pair potential tenants with property owners and in response to requests the we are currently expanding the scope of the RPD to include all of Connecticut.
